Thank you for taking this journey with me.
Hopefully by now you are incorporating some of the following into your daily life:
1. Becoming aware of what you are eating / defaulting to, when and why. And as you pay attention to your “triggers” begin to look at a “better” choice.
2. Make one simple change such as substituting one can of soda for a glass of water. Counting to 10 and taking several deep breathes before lighting up that cigarette or heading for the candy.
3. Chose a “new thought” you would like to have become a reality. Write it in you journal, in your appointment book, on the fridge – somewhere you will see it. Repeat it to yourself on a regular basis, especially when you are “heading” to that old trigger.
4. Add some way to increase “moving your body”. Park in the “back 40” of the parking lot at the store, take a walk to spend some time with someone or by
yourself to de-stress. Ride a stationary bike while you watch tv. Do so
me stretches during commercials and / or for a few minutes in the morning upon rising and a few minutes in the evening before you go to bed.
With any successes you are achieving, take time to acknowledge that you are making progress. We are not “gauging” ourselves against someone else, o focusing on what we have “not” accomplished that we set out to do. We are learning to be gentle with ourselves and “celebrating” each achievement – no matter how small. We will build our self confidence of being able to “take care of me” because I choose to. It is not selfish or expected – it is a choice to love and take care of ourselves, – body, soul and spirit.
I encourage you to “allow” yourself to feel empowered within yourself for “who you are”, the wonderful unique individual God made you to be as well as the incredible body you can and will learn to love because of all it does for you.
Blessings as you enjoy your journey making a few more positive, small choices this week. (Record them in your journal to see your changes are real).
Rebecca
