With Thanksgiving

The holidays can bring a great deal of stress to one and all. However, I have found one of the best ways to come out of the feelings of begin defeated and in despair is to revisit what we began last week – to start counting your blessings one by one. I know it may sound old fashioned or “tongue in cheek” but it really does work. There was a time when I started with just being grateful that I was still alive, after being in an auto accident that could have left me paralyzed or even dead.  The fact that I was still alive and able to walk was and still is a miracle which I focus on this miracle of my life and it always takes me to a better frame of mind.

I have been through a lot of struggles, heartache and turmoil, but when it seems I can’t face another day I can always go back to what I would have missed if I had been paralyzed or not made it out of my car wreck alive. I am so very grateful for all the wonderful things I have gotten to experience these past 20 years as the joys far out way the sorrows and struggles along the way. When I realize all that I could have missed, I can only stay in a feeling of gratitude for all the blessings that I do have and the people in my life. I have been blessed with friends and individuals who have crossed my path that have brought such incredible wisdom and blessings to my life. I am richer and a better person for all these wonderful people God has sent into and through my life. They are the best gifts anyone could have to help me along my path in life.

So as you go into and through the events of the holidays, may you be able to find your “root” gratitude that you can go back to, to “get grounded” in what will take you back into the right mindset to get back up and keep going with a good attitude.

When you start to get stressed and overwhelmed, just take a few minutes to re-focus on your “mindset” and let gratitude take you through the next hurdle and back into joy.

Blessings as you take time to enjoy the moments which add up to precious memories that you can cherish for a lifetime.

Let’s take a look at one step into the future – it is an excellent time to to begin to focus on all the things you want to have and be both now and in the future.  The affirmations that we have spoken of are very powerful to redirect your mindset on an every day basis.

I am grateful for all the blessings I have.  I am grateful that I now focus on positive things and away from the negative things in my life and about myself.  I now choose to see me as a beautiful, loved child of God.  I now choose to take care of my body and be kind to myself.  I now choose to see the good in both myself and others.

Write in your journal and begin to speak your desires.  Listen and embrace them and you will be amazed at the outcome over time.  Be kind and gentle on yourself and others.

Blessings to all and I am grateful for all who are walking this journey with me.
