Greetings and Welcome!
Our first step is very important as we build a foundation to begin our change (one simple change at a time).
To begin we will choose to shift our focus from food or any “other” substance or “vice” that we use to deal with stress, fear, anxiety, worry, etc. and move into a way to discover how to learn to love ourselves, our bodies and our lives.
Let’s look at directing our energy away from everything “wrong” with our bodies as we look in the mirror. Instead we will “see” our body for all the wonderful things it does for us. It’s the vehicle we “run around in” that so efficiently repairs itself and keeps on going even when we push it beyond what we should. It is a marvelous machine that functions in ways we cannot comprehend. If you perceive the “awe” in how great it works for us every day and begin to be grateful for all it does, we can move into choosing to treat it better.
So as a beginning, this week focus on being grateful for all it does for us – maybe even making a list. I know this may sound a little “crazy” but begin to Thank our bodies for all it does and become acutely aware of how wonderful it really is.
- I am so grateful that I have this wonderful “House” for my spirit and soul.
- I am so grateful for the ability to move around and for you (speak to it) taking me where I want and need to go.
- I am so grateful for all the things I am getting accomplished today because of my awesome body.
It is an exciting feeling as we shift our thoughts to gratitude for our unique and special body created “just for us” by God.
When we choose this way of thinking, we can begin to say, and eventually mean “I Love My Body!”
Blessings to all,
Rebecca
