As we Begin

As I begin to share my “journey” with you – Do I have all the answers?  NO.  Am I an authority on any subject, have a degree or way to “prove” anything?  Absolutely not!

What I do have is experience – the wisdom that comes with the ages.  Going through things and finding out the hard way (and sometimes getting it right).  Enduring the storms of life and getting through day to day struggles.  Learning how to get back up after feeling like you’ve been hit by a Mack  truck and left as road kill.

This blog is meant to simply bring encouragement.  I believe that I’m not the only one who has been there (and some days still there).  There were so many times that I felt so alone in my struggles.  Lost in this black vortex that I just couldn’t seem to break out of, and if I did – it was only a momentary reprieve and then I’d get sucked back into it again.

So you don’t have to agree or disagree as I’m not out to “change” the world or anyone’s 1381893527720“mind” of what they “should” or “shouldn’t do”.  I just hope and pray that a few people will find some hope and ideas that they can work through, to help move out of some of the places they find themselves in.  That you can feel that the “light at the end of the tunnel” is truly some sunshine and daylight – and not another freight train bearing down that you need to run and find a place to get away from / “get in the wall” so you’re not destroyed.  Know that somehow, this too shall pass and from this experience and with the help and grace of God something good can and will emerge from it all.  If nothing else, the fact you “made it” through some hard times, will show you that you’re a little “tougher” / stronger than you might have thought you were.

Last time we looked at shifting how we “see” and feel about our bodies.  As we keep this in mind, let us also begin to “see” what a unique individual each one of us is.  Begin to look at all the good and positive things about who we are.  See the things that make us special.

Take a few minutes each day to be grateful and acknowledge the wonderful “house” we live in known as our “body”.

Then take a few minutes to acknowledge our gifts, talents, things we have to offer to others and “who” we really are deep inside – all that is good and loving.  List them on paper or at least in your mind and then build on this throughout the week.  Ask God to show us how he sees us.  Be able to accept compliments from others as sincere and “real” – that we are likable and maybe even lovable.  Consider beginning with an affirmation that “God does love me and cares about all I am going through”.   Say it until it becomes “real” to you – even if it takes awhile.  Know you are valuable and valued.

May you find a special blessing coming your way today and may you know and feel God’s love surrounding you.

With many blessings,

Rebecca
