My Christmas Prayer

As I share my “Christmas Prayer” with you, I hope and pray that you are able to relax and enjoy the day, taking the expectations off of yourself and others that are unhealthy or unrealistic.  That you are able to love yourself and know that God loves you and can and will help you each and every day to let go of what is not important and give you the courage to embrace and make the changes you want and need to in your life.  Giving you the strength to face each challenge and walk through them with hope and confidence as you gain each victory, no matter how small it may seem.  Blessings to you and yours.

Hello God, It’s me

As I face another Christmas with seemingly unanswered prayers, I am asking you, God to reach down and give those I love the hugs that I cannot. As you extend your hand in love, I am praying each one reaches back to hold onto your hand to begin walking out of the darkness they have been engulfed by. And the same be true for others caught in the torment of addiction, all those in my family struggling who need a ray of light and hope in their heart in the midst of their storms they feel caught in.

I am also asking a special blessing to fill and begin to heal the heartache for all who are struggling with addiction and the families whose hearts are breaking because of our loved ones in turmoil. I am praying that this year the strongholds be broken off that keep them bound and holding them back from the life that you, God as our Father has for them and for us. May each of them feel your love and strength in a special way today and throughout the coming year.

I thank you for all the blessings in my life and for answers to this prayer, knowing how much you love my son, my family and all the families affected by this stronghold of addiction.  Remind me that though it may not feel like it or “look” like anything is happening, I know that you are working behind the scene to bring all things together for our good – theirs and mine!

I thank you for sending Jesus and Jesus, I thank you for coming so that we can have hope and a connection with you through the Holy Spirit, which I thank for being with me each and every hour of every day. May we always remember to turn to you for our strength, hope and guidance, knowing and feeling your love in a beautiful and real way.

In Jesus name,
Amen
